Of the three coins named in the Bible, St. Raphael is probably the least known. Raphael is found only in the Old Testament (and not only in the texts considered conventional by Jewish or Protestant Christians there), but Gabriel and Michael also appear prominently in the New Testament.
In the book Tobit, he expresses himself for the healing of mind, body, and soul. The first part of the Bible story describes the life of a pious Jew named Tobit, who was buried by the Assyrians despite being forbidden to do so. Tobit went blind after seeing a bird drop. The blindness lasted for several years and left Tobit in deep pain, resulting in a desire to die.
At the same time, there was a woman named Sarah who had been married seven times, but each time her groom was killed by the devil before their wedding night. He too was deeply disappointed and hoped to die.
St. Raphael was sent to both. He came with Tobias, the son of Tobit, on a journey in search of the liver of a special kind of fish with healing properties. Raphael disguised himself as Tobias’s travel guide, and in this, he often prayed by pilgrims.
On the way home, Raphael and Tobias stopped at Tobit’s relative – Sarah’s parents’ house. Tobias and Sarah fell in love and on the night of their wedding, Tobias’s promise of holy love, the angel of Raphael, aroused in power and defeated the demon.
Returning home with his bride, Tobias placed the fish’s liver in Tobit’s eyes, and his blindness was cured. During the wedding of Tobias and Sarah, the family thanked Raphael, who had just revealed himself as a spiritual man.
In Hebrew, the word Rafael can be presented as “the healing God,” “ine healing healer” or “re healing God“. Healing his spiritual mission on earth, which is extremely important for those who suffer in any way. Historically, his separate feast was celebrated on October 24, although his episode recently coincided with the other two major currencies on September 29.
Below is a special prayer for any of your intentions to St. Raphael, especially if anyone knows that someone is in pain at the moment. In the light of recent events, we should all pray for the healing of our country and all those who are suffering in mind, body, or consciousness.
The glorious Archangel St. Raphael, the great prince of the heavenly court, you are famous for the gift of your wisdom and grace. Those of you who travel by land or sea or air, comfort the afflicted and shelter sinners of, I beg you, help me in all my needs and in all the sorrows of this life, as you once helped young Tobia on her journey. Since you are the “Sadh” of God, I humbly pray to You for the healing of the many afflictions of my soul and the ailments that afflict my body. I wish you special grace (mention your special intention here), and the great grace of holiness to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
