Did you know that you have a special angel? No, just donโt love you! The Guardian Angel Prayer pays homage to a great divine being!
In His great love for us, God gives each of us our own unique guide, a guardian angel at birth to keep us guided on the right path to heaven.
Guardian angels keep an eye on us, pray for us and help guide our thoughts and tendencies.
The Guardian Angel Prayer mentions its striking numbers:
St. Jerome wondered in the context of this passage, “How great is the value of the (human) soul for every man to receive an angel for his protection?”
One of his fourth-century contemporaries, St. Basil, once wrote that “every faithful person has an angel by his side as a teacher and guide and conducts his life.” (Doesn’t this statement remind you of the Guardian Angel prayer?)
Other theologians, including St. Clement and St. Gregory the Great, have noted that every country, city, town, village, and even family has its own special guardian angel!
The angels are pure spirits. They often deliver important messages in biblical times, such as when Gabriel told Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus (Luke 1: 26-28). (Actually, the word “angel” comes from the Greek word “angels” meaning messenger))
The angels also did other important works of scripture, such as keeping the three young men safe after being disobeyed by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar (pictured on the left), such as being thrown into a fiery furnace (Daniel, CH3); And rescuing St. Peter from prison (Acts 12: 6-10).
Michael, helps us remember not to accept this blessed spirit for dignity.
St. Bernard urged the faithful to “make the holy angels your friends [and] to honor them through your prayers.” He added, “Never do anything in your presence in front of your angel.
Our Guardian Angels must be treated with respect and love when we have confidence in our protection, which we all sadly need at times!
This is not a small part of the activities of their parts, the fallen angels are more known as ghosts. Although you may say that adversity loves companionship, these evil spirits have no love for us and certainly not for God (or anything else)!
They want to drag us into hell with all kinds of sinful and hateful behavior. Fortunately, our guardian angels can help us follow in the footsteps of our Lords on their way to heaven instead.
As mentioned earlier, angels can protect us physically as well as spiritually. There are plenty of stories here, for example, of mysterious strangers being rescued from traumatic situations who seem to have suddenly disappeared at first sight!
Although these accounts are anecdotal, they highlight how important angels can be in our lives and encourage them to call upon us for help in our prayers.
We can imitate our angels, as we imitate our Lord, to help one another, especially those most in need.
While the Guardian Angel Prayer may seem like a mere childhood nursery rhyme at first glance, it may inspire us to be accepting of the Angels’ heavenly direction.
Help With God’s help and through them your words, prayers and actions can help other people move, which can sometimes be a conflicting path to eternal life. And your guardian angel is happy to help you share God’s love with you!
